HI, I'M SARAH TERRY
Founder + Counsellor
My Story
My Story
For many years, I developed my skills in training and development, working primarily with adults. Counselling initially felt like a natural extension of this, allowing me to delve deeper into supporting individuals.
After qualifying, I found myself in a fast-paced environment working as a counsellor within GP surgeries. A chance encounter with a retiring school counsellor presented an unexpected turn. Despite initial reservations – many counsellors tend to shy away from working with teens – I felt a surprising pull towards this opportunity.
Perhaps it was fate, but the moment I began working with teenagers, I knew I had found my true calling. There's a unique energy and vulnerability in this age group that resonates deeply with me, and the chance to witness their growth and resilience is incredibly rewarding. Here began my specialism in working with teens and young adults and that led me to become involved with the ever increasing numbers of neurodivergent teens.
Skip some 15 years of learning about and working with Autistic and ADHD Teens and adults, my own diagnosis of Autism and realising the huge gap in therapy for neurodivergent people; and here we are!
I firmly believe everyone has the strength to navigate life's complexities. Our society often disables people who are different by not giving them space to express themselves, even when it's tough to hear. Behaviour problems rarely tell the whole story, and I always strive to uncover the deeper meaning behind them.
I am Autistic and I advocate strongly for improved knowledge and support around Autism.
Over the last 20 years, I have been able to produce some amazing results and am still in touch with many of the teens I have helped over the years who have become successful young adults and parents.
I am proud to have been part of the lives of so many amazing people and have become the “go-to” expert for neurodivergent people and their families.

I am Autistic myself and I advocate strongly for improved knowledge and support around Autism. This is why I created Spectrum - a membership community for all things Autism. Many lives have been changed particularly teens for over 20 years.
